Not tried a supermarket since Monday, there was no stupid queuing out side then.
But I'm guessing things have moved on since then and the "improvement "of making everyone stand out side has been brought in.
Yep really good idea for those that can do it, let's face it we ain't got anything thing else that they will let us do.
If it turns wet things will really get grim., mind you the freezing gale force wind here at the moment is not something I would wish to stand around in for more than 10min or so.
Years ago we used to be amazed when we saw this kind of thing in places like Russia. :yikes:

Good afternoon just been round another corner shop, problem is all our corner shops have all the shelves full to bursting but they are all so small, that people are all in close proximity ,and there was 30 people in the shop,I just looked in and saw the queue all close together and came out again, when I got home Mrs Woo was once again wiping all the light switches, fridge door handle, taps, banister on the stairs, toilet flush handle and uncle Tom Cobley and all:smile:

We went shopping Tuesday, Tesco's lots of shelf's mt, lidl's most thing's on shelf's but not full, sainsbury's most shelf's full-ish

but what I have noted is that somethings are not on shelfs but have been changed to other thing's ie: 6 pint's of whole milk none but 4 pints of semi skinned and more of 2 litres bottles
so are they only putting things out which are more profitable???????

Well there now shouldn't be any supermarket food waste, but here there is more food waste bin's and already saying more food as been wasted by people :mad::sad::sad:

Internet seems very slow at the moment, everybody must be online reporting their neighbours for going out for a second walk, or having boyfriends/girlfriends visit, or found a garden centre still selling cut flowers :nonofinger:

I honestly now never question what anyone is doing to cope and survive all this. The stress for many is intolerable and if hoarding helps them? It was tempting for me as we can get cut off but I already keep good stocks in. Just panic measures. Some are not as strong as othersPh re water. If the power goes the water supply can be threatened or maybe where they live the water is not as good...

Funny thing around here is that people are saying " we've never seen so many police" only since corona virus started  but in daily life I've not seen one for over 30 years here only see one when we go shopping and then that is one or two in the last 10 years

Just on the subject of bottled water,,,,
We have to buy it here as our tap water has a horrible tangy metallic taste and sometimes can be slightly discoloured .

I think some advice, Islander, is given out simply to reassure people rather than be an effective form of advice:wallbanging::dunno: I now shop only every 14 days and I carry a small sponge, soaked in Disinfectant, in a small plastic bag, and I use that to wipe down Shopping Trolley handles before I use them, it certainly keeps my hands clean!!:heehee::cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Wipes are supposed to be effective if they contain 70% alcohol.

Which is why I have a bottle of whisky standing by should I get a sore throat.
                      Its only 40% , but its worth a try.

I have Cuticura Sensitive Anti-bacterial gel ... I bought six bottles before this epidemic raised its ugly head. It doesn't contain alcohol but Chlorhexidrine chloride (what you wash with before surgeries) and Didecyldimethylammonium chloride :rolleyespink:, kills bacteria 99.9%, which is fine by me!

Just returned from a shopping expedition - Sainsburys, Aldi, Lidl, ASDA - all with horrendous queues. Went to a small local butchers - profiteering. Came back with some sand paper and that's all. So I suppose it wasn't a wasted trip. The old 'beer belly' is going down nicely thanks to this shenanigans.

Well someone didn't think much of Nelson Mandela as he spent nearly 30 years in prison! Winston Churchill was thrown out of government for creating around 500,000 causalities at the Gallipoli fiasco... The point was that no-one can be expected to make choices that will please 100% of the populace 100% of the time, but I expect you know that.
