Great pics Kid! We visited some of the places in January with PV and I took some pics too, but mine are nowhere as good as yours. On the second to last one, the one Dendy liked best, I thought it looked like waves in the sky, so pretty. Although the wind turbines just go whoosh! you must admit that they do nothing to beautify the countryside, on the contrary!

We've always fancied living in a windmill, walnut.

Thanks marge, glad it cheered you and hope your taking care of that foot. Yes, I walked right into that "tree" joke, didn't I?

Thanks, Sis. Here's another of the School of Navigation I forgot to post yesterday.

pete, sorry, I forgot to ask the people at the far end to go away ....

Excellent pic of the fortress! That wildflower that I want you to ID Lofl was to the left of the fortress entrance. Then there were some down along by these paths. I guess they were finished blooming when you were there the other day. Hubby will see about getting the photo scanned to you tomorrow.

Love the visual day out. thankyou for sharing them with us. (you lucky thing, i can't get my pics to stay on board, they turn to red crosses. ho hum...) I like the wind turbines. We have quite a few wind farms round here. I don't find them ugly, infact they don't actually detract from the surrounding areas.
I love the pictures of the sea. I hate being out of sight of the sea, if only as a horizon line here. Lucky you having the sun and all that interesting flora to look out at. But i must admit you are welcome to the oxalis.

Hey, compostee, you almost chatter more than me ... difficult, I might add!

I disagree with my Sis, I love the wind turbines and think they are very graceful.

The sea is lovely and we are lucky in that, although we live in the country we are only 20 minutes from the sea.

I don't want the Oxalis, thank you! Although it is pretty, it spreads quicker than wildfire!

PS If you're having problems with your pics, PM me .. I'm the site's technophobe but can manage pics as you see! [IMG]

This is for walnut, when he comes on board ... and bet you wish you were here ...

The start of our journey up the IC1 from Sao Bartolomeu de Messines to Sao Marcus de Serra was disrupted, first by these cops coming at us in our lane waving us to the hard shoulder ...

... then by this up in the distance ...

... followed by these chaps ...

    ... and the crew ...

... followed by these essential people ...~~

There were several ambulances and about a dozen motorbike cops marshalling the cyclists and crew.

So, now I will go through my mountain pics and come back in a while.

This is going to have to be in three stages, I'm afraid.

We found this fountain up in the mountains called Fonte de Amoreira, the Fountain of the Mulberry Tree, which it is flanked by. T'other half tasted the water and said it was strange tasting, almost metallic. Could be from the iron in the earth here

Thank you, roders, walnut and Gogs.

walnut, in case you come back to look again, sorry to tell you this, you (in the turquoise outfit) were not the first. They were further ahead with police escort and their crew and ambulance ...this was the second lot! But you look like you're in the lead because I didn't have the camera for the leaders!

I can't paint people, only hills, trees, lakes and rivers.

As soon as I knew what it was, I said to t'other half, must get pictures for walnut! Glad you enjoyed it!
