Country Life

After our one day of rain :( we took a wander up into the Serra da Monchique hills through the Eucalyptus forests with the heavenly scent in the warmth. There was quite an Autumnal feel in the air.

This is the lovely little hamlet of Alferce. We looked to buy in this area. Although I live in cuckoo land, I really didn't fancy being in the clouds most of the winter ...





We thought we'd make a car advertisement while we were up there with a little bit of posing on my part ...



... and to prove I WAS wearing clothes ...



A little flora, the first being a Gorse of some sort, I believe, it was nicely scented, and I haven't a clue what the second one is ...





And on the way home got a nice pic of our new Courthouse in Silves called The Palace of Justice ...

:D I recon yours looks pretty clean for all the dust around.

 

You can't see the putty-men footprints on it, Babe ... :eek: We're having hee-bee-gee-bees about little un (Cal) jumping up "clawing" the top ... :eek: :eek:

 

I hadn't thought of that, its a pain on regular roofs let alone snaggable ones.

 

Any suggestions other than murder ???????? As I've told you, we can't get a hard top for love nor money.

When my house in finished in 2099 I'm going to go outside too :D

Thank you, rosa. Today Isabel (Izzy Blue as t'other half calls her) took us out to lunch and out and about. Lunch was wonderful ... out and about was a disaster photowise as I had chicken smeared fingerprints on the lens ... :eek:

Anyway, lunch was at a place our friends told us "never to go to" ... to us that means "go check it out" ... it was wonderful ...









... I was presented with my chicken for �£3.50 (of which I had eaten some before I thought to photograph it ...



... and t'other half had his steak falling off the plate for �£6.50 ....



... and I'm afraid this little fella helped me even though I brought some back for my boys ...

... today's disaster film continued ...

There was this Portuguese woman feeding her dog with a knife at the table (and heaven only knows why the picture is the size it is) ...



Having left the restaurant we went into the Laranjeiro valley (valley of the oranges) where we had always wanted to buy ... you won't see any pics because the lens was covered with chicken, I'm afraid! :eek:

However, a year or so ago we did look at buying this odd place in that area ...



... it does have another level underground. Never really pursued it.

We went up to the new dam they are building ...





When they fill it we figure it will be 3/4 of the way up what you're looking at ... maybe novel pics now?

Came home and found this gecko on the Baffa wall ...



Must go clean the camera.
