Thank you, mira, you popped up in the middle of me posting. Yes, it's beautiful and you would truly love it and may go there for lunch one day. [IMG]

Actually, we did not eat lunch there but had a wonderful meal elsewhere. I ordered lamb casserole (for lack of describing it any other way) and I was brought a casserole dish with what appeared to be a quarter of a lamb in it with carrots and onions in a wonderful gravy and a side dish of chips. I brought a lot home. [IMG] This did cost me Ã?£5 I might add. It was so tender it flaked ... and this is a sort of non meat eater talking.

Thank you Sis and walnut. Sis, we sure are going to be eating out a lot on your next visit!

I fancied going to the beach today, but as it's 26 degrees we headed for the hills where it's cooler, to Alte again. Hope I don't repeat photos from previous posts.

This area of the little park is filled with Schinus trees, Lantana, Aptenia (the trailing daisy on the wall) and Callistemon, amonst other things.

P ricasoliana is in its element at the moment here ... this is a small one ...

And a darling little critter who joined us for lunch, but actually didn't want any, just the company ...

There was a tiny black one, only 4-6 weeks old but was a bit camera shy. [IMG]

LOL, as others have said before I think, every picture of yours could be a postcard! [IMG]

Thank you for the day out again, have enjoyed your lovely pictures, of lovely scenery, in lovely weather!

Want to swap, here it is clear blue sky, a bit chilly, and 'flat as a pancake' Essex? :D

As always, lovely Sis, and looking forward to seeing it all in real again, hopefully next year.

DAG - " ......... here it is clear blue sky, a bit chilly, and 'flat as a pancake' Essex?" Exactly the same here!

Thank you pete, DAG, Sis, rosa and pip.

I haven't posted anything the last two Sundays as I've returned to places already visited here. However, I have taken a few pictures of interest...

The castle at Castro Marim ...

They say an Englishman's home is his castle ... this is a Frenchman's who apparently has been working on it for about 12 years now ... obviously has a spare penny or two ...

A lovely park on the waterfront at Olh£o ...

    A typical fishing boat ...

A pretty posing friend in Alte ...

It's not pretty, but this is Candido, the only bar/cafe/shop in the hamlet of Calvos near to us. We are in Calvos-Carrasqueira. The relevance of this photo is that it's where we found Candida and Calvos at the rubbish bins (which are next to where I'm standing) ...

Sunday and again today we went back to the fishing village of Carvoeiro in Central Algarve. It is the first place we visited here in 1983 and first bought in 1988.

Praia do Carvoeiro is in this cove but I have avoided photographing it as there was a massive crane (of the metal kind) right above the beach ... this is facing west ...

This is Praia do Paraiso just the other side of the far cliff with houses on ...

Carvoeiro viewed from the cliff above Escondidinhas caves ...

Escondidinhas ... you can walk all through these ...

This is looking east toward Alfanzinha and the complex of Rocha Brava where our other apartment is ...

This is the little church overlooking Praia do Carvoeiro ...

    ... to be continued ...
