I thought it was a NIP as it looked like mine. The leaves are flat when young but always turn upward (sun protection I think) when more mature.

My 5 Thevetias, I didn't open the kernels, just soaked them for 24 hours and potted them together and 5 seedlings came up! Obviously 3 in one of them. [IMG]

As I often say, you learn something everyday and that was mine for today! [IMG]

Well done on the Thevetias, they are certainly very healthy looking. Do you plan on having them as a conservatory plant or do you have a warm, sheltered spot outdoors?

I think you will find that the "spines" on the trunk will tend to dissappear as the plant ages LOL, they are the remains if the early needles.

We do usually agree, me and dendy,.... eventually. :D

Just a thought LOL, have you ever seen a monkey climbing your plant, if not then maybe it is a Portugese Monkey Puzzle Tree. :D

LoL, they'll have to stay in the glasshouse at work till they are big enough to try outside, probably next summer not this one but I guess that depends on how fast they grow by july. [IMG]

I'll keep my fingers crossed, strongy. My two are hanging in here through our winter (even our hailstorm today) so I'm looking forward to our Spring with them. Keep me posted! K-G goes on broadband on Friday so she'll be following this closely as well.

My NIP, bought it just before xmas for under a tenner, looked too good to leave there, besides it was at a Wyevale GC so I was saving it from a premature demise! :( It will outgrow our living room one day but I'll enjoy it for now. [IMG]

Yes, it does look like mine. They are lovely and "soft" aren't they, except for those spiney things on the trunk!

Hmmmm, I remember Wyevale well ... hmmm. In saying that, it was them who ordered an Arbutus unedos for us. Three came in, all poor specimens but we chose the best. It's still living at the IoW as the person we sold to want to keep it.

Oh, forgot to say, we were over our friends today and in November, K-G gave them four Thevetias about 8-10 inches high. He put them in the ground and went off to England. Came back last week and they are still alive but a wee bit leafless, but his location is quite open and whereas we have only gone down to 4oC, he has gone down to zero.

Maybe we can populate the place with this beautiful shrub? [IMG]

Armacao de Pera is about 20 minutes away from us, rosa, in off season, could be up to 30 in season. We are quite well located, about 20 minutes to the coast and 20 minutes to the mountains ... perfection!

The apartments are wild, aren't they? They are sitting on the Marina with the sea to the left, but as I said I was taking this out of a car accelerating uphill.

Gotta say, I'm not too keen on those apartments at the marina, little boxes made of ticky tacky comes to mind. :D
