Courgettes dead by morning - Pull them out or dig them in?

    Maybe I shouldn't write them off just yet then after all. We seem to be saying there's a chance they'll struggle on for a little bit longer.

    I have binned the tomatoes, this afternoon, looks like it will be the runner beans in the morning, busy weekend

    Went down to 3 deg C here and a very light frost on the lawn. That must put a stop to all my tender stuff I think.

    Probably worth protecting (cloche or fleece) this time of year. The time that the ground is frosty is very short, so surviveable (perhaps with a bit of help)

    I reckon that dahlias don't get blackened by a light frost, and will carry on for a while. Perhaps applies to other tender plants too ?

    I know it is not looking like it at the moment, but don't forget last year's October ...
