    I find Simplicity patterns are one of the easier makes to follow Snorky so you shouldn't have a problem. By coincidence I was in Hobbycraft today buying mounting board and embroidery thread.

    Although they don't sell patterns, if you have The Range near you, they have a very good arts and crafts section and come up slightly cheaper than Hobbycraft.

        I used to scour the second-hand shops, mainly in Tring and Ventnor IoW. The charity shops can be good places.I had two screens but never did the other one ... actually, it could be up in the attic here! When my sister visited the UK from Germany, we would spend hours going about, even to Oxford. One time she took a 30s/40s sideboard back to Germany on the top of the car (much to BinL's dismay! :heehee:

        I got the fabric at a huge fabric store on Cambridge Street, probably long gone.

          Not John Bly's shop in Tring then? Tring Auctions were more within my budget.

            :biggrin: Both. Plus a little shop on Ackerman Street where I worked. Spent lots of time at Tring Auctions ... and Bedford Auctions.

              Ooh I love Tring auction. I love having a good snout through all the stuff. I'm up in Lincoln at the moment and there's a few nice antique shops here and decent charity shops.

                Back home from Lincoln now and just waxed the drawer edges and put it together. Not bad. I was so annoyed I accidentally bought gloss blue instead of satin and didnt even noticed til i was painting the drawers. What a numpty. Also its much brighter blue than the tin showed, but still, much better condition now than before :)

                  Job well done. What have you done on the ceiling?

                    The ceiling? Do you mean like a finishing spray? I've not sprayed it with anything actually. I was going to spray it with a clear spray id got when I painted some bits in a chalky paint but wasn't sure whether it'd work on gloss. :what::dunno:

                    I've just cut some scented draw liners out for the little drawers and put them in. Thought that would be a bit nicer for all my sewing bits and bobs etc

                      Well done @Snorky85 it looks very professional. I think that it's not the ceiling, it's the wall behind it, is it some kind of painting?

                              Did a little project today...another item from grandma's shed. Yet again it had been painted over and was flaking.

                              1B0ACECB-72D5-40A6-9F3C-7E5690F8579B.jpeg 0BF20BE9-4DCD-491B-8DEA-3182442F0712.jpeg 92CEDC9A-1307-4F7E-AD25-C7FDC058B4CE.jpeg D9978D94-D29A-4D22-8653-9C72DD643541.jpeg

                              Stripped it of paint, cleaned it back with scrubber and wire brushes, primed it, sprayed it green again. Just done the final colour coat and will seal it in the morning. going to use it as a flower vase/jug

                              :biggrin::spinning:
