Thank you Sian. :) Yes it is a Wrendale (Hannah Dale) design. It's the second one completed of a trio I'm sewing. The first one you may remember was a Highland Coo.

well, I knit, I knit like other folk breathe. A well channelled nervous twitch... Used to work for the Aran export industry but realised I could earn more ( for overseas work with the most needy) by designing, making smaller things and selling at street markets and craft fairs. At a loose end just now and I hate that! Oh they asked for bright baby hats for India... Will try to get the photo of the lace Christening gown offline later.... One of these is now on an antique doll in a museum...

I wouldn't normally put other peoples stuff on here but this is craft and garden related. My wife makes cards and other craft stuff and her latest allocation from Katy Sue was green man and green woman.

Here are her makes - will be on create and craft soon

covid-19 reaches all parts... Getting requests for knitted face masks, lined and with filter pockets of course... and "ear savers"; knitted straps with buttons to loop the ties round as they make ears sore after several hours. The masks become fashion items. I add cables to mine.

                      Here we are.

These are four of my knitted masks. The cables top and bottom contract the work so that the central part is fuller.

They will go off to Canada to be completed with fastenings and linings that will include a pocket for a disposable filter.

When this is over they will go to rough sleepers for winter warmth. CIMG2863 (2).JPG

Ah yes. My faith family is there and I work for them and they have huge orders. We work to feed and care for rough sleepers, and abandoned babies in Nepal. It is kind of centralised. And I am a knitter not a sewer; they need professionally finished as knitting by itself will not keep the virus out; has to be very finely woven material . As they are on the photo they would be useless.

ALso as I add cables they get the kudos of being hand knitted in Ireland! I traded at street markets and craft fairs for many years here and the tourists loved anything with cables.
