After 2 1/2 years of problems with this cross stitch it has finally made it into a frame. Even that was a problem. :doh:It's not very clear in the top picture as it was difficult to find somewhere in the house where light didn't reflect off the glass.

                That is beautiful.
My mum does a lot of cross stitch so I know the time and effort that goes into making them. Well done :).

I mainly do crochet but I dabble in lots of other crafts.

I also think buying craft supplies and using craft supplies are two separate hobbies, oh and then theres saving pattens that I like the look of!

Thank you SherwoodArrow. :) It's the finest piece I've done (I mean size of stitch) and was hard on my aging eyes. 30,000 stitches - and no I didn't count them.

I admire the fact you can crochet, it's something I've never managed to accomplish. I can knit just about anything but crochet still eludes me.

I can knit but I'm definitely a crocheter (if thats a word). I learned from watching youtube videos, I would recommend 'crochet with clare' as a youtube teacher.
I'll post some photos of things I've made before they disappear from GW.

Thank you but I don't think a video would help me. An old aunt of mine that created some lovely pieces tried to teach me many years ago and gave up. It's something I must have a mental block with.

Yes, I'd like to see your work, thanks.

That looks so delicate @Sheal and the colours are beautiful. I bet you're glad you've finished it though ...

My grandmother used to crochet things, she could look at something and remember it, and then crochet it later in her own time. She made some lovely things. I've got a table centrepiece she did and some chairbacks.

Thank you @Michael Hewett. It's an unusual piece and caught my eye. :)

My aunt created some lovely things too and like your grandmother crocheted some fine work as centrepieces. My daughter has the only piece that still exists and I've just asked her to send me a picture of it to post here.
