The sweet trees are quite a novelty - if I had one it would be like autumn, they wouldn't stay on there for long!

There were children (and adults) that wouldn't venture onto the driveway, I was moving around, sitting in chairs amongst dummies, hiding in the coffin and jumping out and even just walking around the drive in a scary mask and all dressed in Black.

Hmmmm, do your neighbours have any issues with all this Nathan, or do they just think you're mad. :)

Well, when I was asked by different neighbours at different times "What are you making", to which I replied "A Coffin", they all didn't believe me, I had to get the other half out to confirm that was what I was doing

Then making the working guillotine, the same thing, though it was obvious that was what I was making, and then finally the Gibbet, for which I made a proper hangmans noose for the body that we hung from it.

I suppose they do see us as mad..... Especially as it was Donna who made all the nasty heads (you'll see them on stick on the left hand side of the screen in the video in daylight), the detail on some included the use meal worms (our chickens treats) hot glued to the heads..... I hollowed out a head and we bought a fake brain, which fitted snugly within it.

I've been told that we need to do more this year .......... I wouldn't mind, but I took the day off work to prepare, and it still didn't seem long enough, eventually after packing it all away (or at least under cover as it had started raining) it was 10.30pm ....... :hate-shocked:

Maybe the Addams Family more like ......... As we have this :-

                    http://www.diy.com/nav/fix/electric...its/Siemens-Wirefree-Linea-Chime-Kit-11348065

And as I can load any MP3 music file onto it, the chime of our doorbell goes something like this :-

If we fancy a change, we can change the door chime quite easily for something else.

I thought the Adams family might be a bit before your time. :) I like it! I've got a wireless doorbell but can't 'load' onto it.

I made sure when I got the new bell, that I could put my own tones on it.

Annoyingly, someone decided to steal the door bell push button by the door, otherwise I would not have changed it, it was going to cost half of what our new complete door bell system cost to just replace the door bell button itself !

Why on earth would someone want to steal a door bell push! Yes, I know the obvious answer, but it brings a whole new meaning to petty theft.

                            Ohhhhh dear!

No not this one above, I've changed my mind!

It looks like I didn't learn my lesson years ago and I've scrapped the above pattern for this......

                            http://www.stolenstitches.com/pattern-shop/sweaters/ignus/

What have I done! I bought and downloaded this pattern yesterday as I've had my eye on it for some while. The designer is Irish living in Southern Ireland, so why have I had to buy it from an American site? The pattern instructions are American and the whole thing is knitted on circular needles, in one piece, from top to bottom!

Luckily the abbreviations are quoted in full at the start of the pattern and I've sat and read the whole thing through for a couple of hours, trying to make sense of it and piecing it together in my mind.

I didn't realise until after I'd bought it that it was Aran and most Aran yarns have a wool content.....I'm allergic to it! Not to be thwarted and loving a challenge I decided to take myself off to the only decent craft shop on the island today. Remember the pattern's American, it didn't go well! The two circular needles that I needed are both different lengths but both 5mm, they had to be ordered not being standard sizing. The yarn amounts are in skeins and yards, not weight! :doh:The lady that owns the shop and I got our heads round this and she took me over to the Aran yarns. I then had to point out I was allergic to wool, which narrowed it down to just one type of synthetic of which she had very little.....this is not going well! The five colours she had were hopeless, including black (which I didn't want) and bright pink, Yuck! I left totally disappointed.

Tomorrow I have to shop in another area close to another craft shop which I will drop in on. I know already that it won't provide me with the yarn that I want, so it looks like I will have to shop online for it.

I know I should give this pattern up now while I'm still sane, but as I said I like a challenge and I love the pattern. Watch this space! :)
