Thank you and Yep they are made from polypropylene twine so wont rot. you can plant straight into them and because they are crocheted and have lots of holes they provide great drainage so are perfect for alpines

At the weekend Mrs Shiney entered seven items in a flower show near us. She won three firsts and a two second(s) :yay: (EDITED)

The standard was extremely high and we're both very pleased with the result. They had lots of different categories and very many for children.

            A first for this painting

First for an arrangement in a teacup
            P1190581.JPG

A first for 'Three cut stems'
            P1190602.JPG

Those stems are from 'Annabelle' who always gives us a wonderful display and this next photo is just a quarter of the plant
            P1210126.JPG

And a second for her 'Beachcomber' entry

Whoops! She also won a second for the knitted scarf section
              P1190514.JPG

The other two entries received very good written comments but weren't in the prizes.

The amount of categories and entries from children was enormous. These are just a few of them as they were still bringing them in (we were there quite early on setting up day).

Only a few of the scarecrows had been brought in at that time

My heartiest congratulations to Hannah - lovely entries . I especially liked the Blue Convolvulus water colour. Looks a great show with a lot of effort put into it. :yay: to the Organisers who do so much to get an event like this set up, and a great inspiration to youngsters to try their hardest.
I would have loved it too,
                Jenny

One of her arrangements that didn't a prize was entered in the 'Garden Party' section. The judges like it but said that the flowers were not a large enough part of the display!

The judges suggested that she should have made a further arrangement of flowers on the base board. I think that was a fair comment and everything increase her knowledge as she's only been competing for just over a year.
