Not yet but i have thought about it previously. Cant be much harder than 2mm polypropylene twine or this raffia cord.

When i said to the women in hobbycraft i needed more of the raffia cord and not the more open raffia because I was crocheting with it she looked at me as if i was insane

Next project is with nice soft thing gold yarn. Its going to be so lovely to do and wont hurt my wrists

I bet it gave them a nice edgy look. I think i may have loads of wire somewhere in a box with all my other model making bits from uni. Will have to have a rummage

Sorry guys u will be sick of me today. Im going back to crocheting products for the shop after this promise.

The wreath is finished! By some miracle and by using everything single scrap of green raffia i have made some ivy and don't need to go back to hobbycraft

Well done, Dips, that will last for years; a good return on the time you invested making it.

Don't know if you sorted the tension question out Jane but the first thing is you have to use the correct thread for the fabric you're sewing (thickness, cotton/synthetic etc) and ensure that the top thread is following the correct route. The problem though is usually with the bottom thread. Firstly check the bobbin; most bobbin cases have an adjustment screw on them. Hold the thread and let the bobbin case dangle - if it drops down quickly you need to tighten the screw, if it doesn't drop at all you must loosen it - it should drop at an even but slow rate. Check the thread is wound evenly before you put it in the case. Ensure you have plenty of free thread from the bobbin and that it's on top of the sewing bed behind your work. Your thread shouldn't be too old - believe it or not sewing thread does deteriorate with age and dries out but that usually results in broken threads not poor tension.

I'm assuming you know about your tension adjustment on the top of the machine?

There are some good videos on youtube but they're model specific so you would need to search yourself.

                        Hope that helps
