    Ah jane those are brilliant!

I cut the stars out of the card and then backed them with wrapping paper.

I have a wreath design to do and im going to redo the xmas tree one but this tome the cold star will be cut out of the gold card and placed on top with sticky pads so its 3d. Got some bauble designs and more star designs to do too

Would love to see your xmas cards

          Then there was this......

          http://www.stolenstitches.com/pattern-shop/sweaters/ignus/

This turned out to be a complete disaster, the American pattern just wasn't coming together properly with various mistakes in it. After undoing and re-knitting a few times I abandoned it. I then invested in another plain pattern that I adapted to take the cable from the American pattern. Part of the way through I discovered that this pattern was an American conversion and it too wasn't coming together right, so I again abandoned and went for a completely different pattern. By this time I was getting concerned about the yarn starting to look scruffy. Nonetheless this is how it eventually turned out, I don't like it either on nor off and the Aran yarn turned out to be to heavy for me..... it swallowed me, if you get my meaning. It's now up for sale and I'll be glad to see the back of it! You win some you lose some unfortunately.

Now, this is what I'm working on at the moment. Glutton as I am for foreign patterns, this one is a German conversion and I can safely say it's coming together well. :)

Edit: I've removed the pattern picture here because of Copyright.

Back and front are identical. At this point it appears to have a 'slit' shoulder/neckline. Quite how the roll neck is going to attach I'm not sure of at the moment, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it. I intend to alter it anyway as I don't want it quite so cosy. :)

:grphg: for the one that's up for sale. my heart cries for you Sheal - all that time and effort. So frustrating but it will appeal to the right person so I do hope it sells.

            :fingers crossed: Jenny :fingers crossed:

Thank you Jenny. :) The headband is not a look that would suit me, besides I haven't got all that long blonde hair to go with it. :doh:The pattern detail is interesting but surprisingly not difficult. This pattern is double knit by the way.

Thanks Dips. :) Give it a go, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it fairly quickly. I'm the opposite to you, I've never been able to crochet and believe me I've tried. Each to their own I suppose.

I have knitted it for our Battle Wool & Craft shop. It will sit in the window with the pattern and hopefully will promote interest / sales of the yarn and the pattern,

The ring was a piece of donated pipe lagging. it didn't want to go into a circle - so "teardrop" shape it is.
I thought about it subsequently, you could use old tights stuffed with suitable soft clothing . It maybe be harder to create a uniform shape though,

And for a lovely hostess whose pre Christmas afternoon tea I was invited to yesterday. Flowers fade and chocolates "disappear" but the tea cosy will be around right through the festive season:
