Wow that's really good @Dips, you shouldn't have said anything about the middle as I am sure no one would have noticed. I bet that took some time to accomplish :)

Aww thanx :-) and it took about 20 minutes to be honest. It was really easy and was just repetative so you only have to learn one bit and then just apply it to the other 7 bits of paper. I think it looks harder to do than it actually is

I visited a ladies group yesterday it was at the local village hall. Very friendly group. They gave me a diary of events up to December as I can have another visit and then decided whether I want to join.

One of the events is origami :)

I quiet fancy the Art Group which meet up once a month so will probably give that a go at the end of September, I've not see when but I believe there is a Photography Group as well so that would be another favourite for me.... there's so many.... craft, baking etc. Think I'll have to give up work :heehee:

i found this really kewl crafty social media charity project the other day

                  https://www.facebook.com/ThePeytonHeartProject

Its to raise awareness around teen suicide and bullying and to get involved you make hearts and attach a label with quotes they have prepared and then leave them random places for strangers to find and keep who then post them on social media

I have bought a laminator for the labels to help with the rain aspect in this country

But im looking forward to making some hearts

I have a lot more to make but at least these first ones are done :-)

I'm currently sewing some felt santas hat on my new sewing machine. They are only an inch tall. Anyone got any tips on how I can hold something that small with punching a few holes in my fingers?

Could you hold them down with a Lolly stick? :)

Metal finger guards - look at her right hand. They tapered to points to help grip things but I suppose you could use old fashioned thimbles.

Gives me a good excuse to go and buy myself a magnum.:spinning:

I should add this is the sewing machine I decided to treat myself to. I got myself another voluntary job at a charity shop after falling out with the other charity I was involved with. They can't sell electricals and so I got this machine for a tenner, all working, just had a few parts missing.
