    Nearly Marge, It's a small Tortoiseshell, here is a Red Admiral, I haven't seen many for years.

    Although I think Red Admirals are colourful I actually prefer the Tortoiseshells, the blue is vibrant.

    Brilliant photos GW don't we have some beautiful butterflies in the UK? We had some Queen of Spain Fritillaries this year but they wouldn't stay still long enough to photograph them.

    .... and don't forget the Scabiosa.... flowers all summer long and good for the butterflies too!!!
