Creating a "woodland meadow" in garden?

Thank you for your reply. And for your advice regarding bulbs. Also for identifying the flowers. I did try doing it through an id app but it was as confused as me!

it’s definitely dry in our garden, even when it’s wet everywhere else! I’ll try the Iris idea for next year. I’ve found a website for a guy who sells mature plants as a bundle for flowering at different times through the year. I think half the trouble is that because it was a lawn, the existing seed heads are sparse/ low and not very interesting. I think I’ll have to collect some grass seeds and chuck them about and hope they will take!
