    Make a Muppet!
WF has asked me for a challenge. OK - but challenges are no good if they are easy and not challenging you to do something different. Perhaps we are all getting in a bit of a rut - I know that I am with cut-outs.

So the challenge is to get to use the paint tools other than the air brush copying facility. Take a natual or manmade object - tree stump, bucket, brush, teapot or whatever -and turn it into a muppet using just the brush tools. You can darken, lighten or paint on details. What you can't do is to copy in bits of other photos. Are you up for it?

Great pics guys--- most impressive. I am still around lurking.

I lack time for imaging at the moment as I have become seduced by taking raw camera images on my new camera and I am learning how to improve, alter and enhance them using photoshop.

Fortunatly a cousin of mine is a police photographer and he uses 'raw' so he has been a great help.

    Keep up the great work.

    Connie Cornflower? :D :D

Reminds me of a song my grandmother used to sing me called 'When I Met Connie In The Cornfield'
    - don't remember any more of the actual words but at about 4 or 5 years old I wondered why they would want to meet in a cornfield!

    (sorry - a bit off topic :D )

Using your scanner to make pictures

Here is another idea to get the creative juices working. You can put small objects like flowers, leaves, ornaments, spoons, dead insects etc on to the glass plate of your scanner. The scan will make a very sharp photograph of the objects which you can then use in pictures. You could use the whole lot as I have here, or use individual items in a picture.

All that I have done to the scan is flood it with very transparent blue paint (set paint to low opacity and use Paint Bucket tool) Then I have framed it.

No - the lid doesn't close but it doesn't seem to matter. Just to demonstrate this, I have put a whole bunch of artificial flowers in the scanner. The lid was raised about 3 inches, but it still worked. Flat objects work best, but you can use sea shells and all sorts of small objects. I am pushed for time at the moment, but I'm going to try to make some proper scanned images tomorrow. Then play around with colours and textures [IMG]
