Where is Platty? I liked his pictures. Good to see you are still producing high quality pictures, WF. I feared you meant it when you said you were resigning!

Grit the teeth and keep working WF. You are doing just great. Just passing by HB. Still busy mastering camera raw. I could do with some sunny days to get some crisp pictures to work with.

    Picking up your artistic theme.

Another use for your scanner is to record fragile found objects. You can keep them as a permanent record or use them in pictures. Sure we could do a lot with feathers...

The stones are Neolithic arrowheads and the china figure is Victorian. The blue feather is from a jay.

This "moth" was made by copying and re-copying the blue jay feather.

And then there is the good old standby kaleidoscope effect. Yes - I'm sure we can do a lot with feathers.

Hi HB. Just returned home and saw your question about the Mondrian.

I did it in Photoshop and I tried the same steps to get the straight lines in Psp but couldn't replicate it. Maybe you can find out how to do this.

Basically set up a background canvas 30cmX30cm and flood with white.

Open a new layer 'the lines' choose a brush of 42 pixels and black as the colour and start drawing your first line while holding the shift key down. This ensures the line is dead straight and this is what I cannot find an equivalent Psp command for. Draw the other lines in the same way.

Open a new layer 'colours' and using the selection tool draw a box to cover one square. Choose first colour and then fill this box. Repeat with the other boxes and colours. Any missed bits can be filled with the clone tool.

Finally flatten all layers and add some 'noise' to take away the pure white texture.
    I hope that this helps.
