Challenge! Create a fairly accurate shadow of an object(without copying)

Another and better attempt. A meaningful and useful challenge would be to learn one new technique a week.

    Hi Guys

You are keeping up the creative work I see. Some great work. I love the roses Marge.

After a day away yesterday I have been trying out a new 'artistic' technique and I hope Marge doesn't mind me using her picture to experiment on but it just seemed right for the approach.

Did you do it the same way that I did? Select image and rub out background. Copy image to a blank sheet. Duplicate layer. Turn one copy black, distort, blur and merge.

Well done indeed! I find freehand drawing with the mouse just about impossible. I have had a go at your Venus using the duplicate mask method previousy described. You can compare the two.

I'll talk you through it, Marge - if you ever want to. It's a lot easier to do than to describe, but it is the only way to get complicated shadows. They are essential if objects are to look solid and standing on a ground surface [IMG]
