Great pics as usual you guys and I am sure that Whiley and WF's friend will be delighted with the very varied and creative results.

Good to welcome two new members to the group. Keep experimenting and posting.

I am having a no computer day today as I have so much to catch up with so I thought I would just share a 'creation' that I did for a photo competition entitled 'A picture of yourself but with you missing from the picture'.

I enjoyed working out how to present the image but didn't bother to enter it. It starts at the bottom with my grandchildren then my children, parents, grandparents and finally gr-grandparents.

Rather a lot of layers before I flattened the image as those of you who use layers will guess.

Paintshop 8 for £14.99 from Amazon has got to be a great bargain for anyone wanting to do this kind of computer art. Grab it while you can!

To put it into perspective - Photoshop costs £600 or more, Photoshop Elements is about £70 and Paintshop 10 is about £200. I paid £29 for Paintshop 9 from Amazon.

Buy the bargain Paintshop 8 for £14.99 and learn to use it. Then you can upgrade later if you really ever need to.

I bought Photoshop 5 from eBay for less than £10 several years ago, and have Paintshop 5 from elder sister when she updated. As you say, Hornbeam, IF you master all the bits and pieces on these older versions then it's worth spending more money! Also you can find all sorts of free up-dates.
There are also free image editors available which have good reports, eg GIMP, Irfanview and Picasa. Worth trying these to see how you get on- different people like different sorts of interfaces.
I think there are some members who use free image editors.

Some interesting shapes in this picture from a visit to a distillery.

Do you fancy it as today's challenge?
