Hornbeam you are doing a great job..My husband likes your hermit better than mine as thats his zodiac sign so he likes that card..
For anyone that doesnt know.. to produce the tarot is a massive challenge..
Their are about 300 probably more decks of tarot just copied from one set the rider waite and you can see the rider waite in all of them..I like the way you have 8 stars in the star card as that card links back to strength which is also number 8..you are doing a great job.. [IMG] [IMG]

P>S Their are more than 300 sets of tarot i was talking about one set in particular...

Thanks Wildflower and am glad that Mr Wildflower liked the hermit :D . As far as I can tell, the earliest tarot cards date from the 14th century. Mine are based on those - the Tarot of Marseilles. Rider Waite and all the others have been true to the earliest symbolism, but interpreted them in diferent ways, just as we are doing now. It is thought that the ideas and symbols go right back to the ancient Egyptians.

Whether we believe in the fortune telling aspect or not - the cards portray all aspects of life and are still very relevant today.

The man that made the rider waite cards is nothing short of a genius..As he portrayed all aspects of life in his deck..and he was also the first to image the minor arcana..I think he would be turning in his grave now as hundreds of people have made cards based on his ideas..he would definately have a copyright claim !! I have to say arthur waite has my utmost respect..and he must have had inspiration from some source..

Your cards have terrific atmosphere, Wildflower. They are far better than most published ones. Which pack have you based yours on?

I have just added all the elements to a figure ..such as crystals flowers ..planets ..trees ..herbs..all the ones that go with that card..Its been a nightmare looking for the bits to add but i had a lot of the herb pictures ..so that helped..some bits are missing but its only for fun.. :D I cant say mine are based on anything really just the elements ..I wouldnt even think about producing any it would be a nightmare as i studied the rider waite for years so i would struggle to come away from them..I am also thinking now that i should have put the zodiac signs on each card,,The list could go on forever more..Their isnt as much thought in my tarot cards as their is in hornbeams..
