Cullercoats were i live

    Whitley Bay Lighthouse.
    It was owned privetly for many years until they decided to sell it a few years ago, The Americans were going to buy it and can you believe ship it back to the states, however the local council stepped in and bought it, to save for our heritage.
    You can go on the island when the tide is back and venture in the lighthouse to the top with spectacular views, they have a book of signing and people from all over the world have signed their book

    thanks jazz just wished the weather had been a little better, funnily enough since i returned the sun is just getting out

    Thank you its pretty when we have good weather but at times the wind and gales off the north sea can be quite awful then throw a downpour of rain in that can be very cold.
    My friend jazz that gets on here has her posting same place check out my hometown newcastle.
    Sunrise is also a friend of mine she lives further up the coast from me good 1 hours drive, i got them both to join gardeners corner they love this forum as much as me, there is some lovely members on this forum.

    I've not been to Cullercoats for a long time. Used to go quite alot as a kid.
