A classic from my school days by Wah.............

    Pete Wylie (who was basically Wah) used to be in a band called The Crucial Three. How prophetic that band name turned out to be as the other two members were;
Julian Cope who went on to form The Teardrop Explodes as well as having a successful solo career..............

...........and Ian McCulloch who went on to form the greatest band to come out of Liverpool (bar none) Echo and the Bunnymen...............

      This video...

proves two things... 1) Not only Swedish blondes have long legs, one called Chereene from Lancashire does as well! 2) Left handed bass players are the best!

Oh no! I can't stand James Cordon.. sorry!

Not my usual but had some Lana Del Rey on while cleaning earlier.

Love her voice and she's so pretty!

I stumbled across this gem while trying to entertain 1.2 with cheesy 90s dance music. See if you can fathom this. I can't.

Buggered if I know :yikes: It's almost bad enough to make me support Brexit though :heehee:

I was at work yesterday and as I was on my own some not cheesy 90's dance music was blasted out................

There was also some 90's trip hop.................

                  And some hip hop...................

Towards the end of the day it was about time that hip hop met country which meant that it was time for The Gourds...............

The day ended with some Seasick Steve................

Just for fun. Please don't look it up but see whether you can guess what, old, song these words are the intro for (a lot of songs used to have intros).

Oh poets often use many words to say a simple thing
It takes thought and time and rhyme
                      To make a poem sing
With music and words I've been playing

For you I have written this song
To be sure you known what I'm saying
I'll translate as I go along

The song was written in 1954 and has been covered nearly 400 times by well known singers. Some of the singers are:- Peggy Lee, Sarah Vaughan, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Eydie Gorme, Brenda Lee, Connie Francis etc.

It's original title was changed around 1960.

It was played on Apollo 10 and Apollo 11.

I think there are sufficient clues :)

And a more difficult one for those of you that found the first one easy :snork:

I'm discontented with homes that are rented so I have invented my own,
Darling this place is a lover's oasis where lights where we chase is unknown,
Far from the cry of the city where flowers pretty caress the stream,
Cozy to hide in, to live side by side in, don't let it abide in my dream.

It was written in 1925 for a musical and has been recorded by many famous singers (including most of those mentioned above) and became a jazz standard. The composer Shostakovich re-orchestrated it as Opus 16 :noidea:

It has been used in films (Doris Day and Gordon MacRae sang it in a film using the title of the song as the title of the film), on TV series and a lot in The Muppets :snorky:

                          Sorry about that @Sandy Ground.

The song was written in 1924 and the first recording (by Marion Harris) was made on the 15th of October but it didn't reach most shops until 1925. Ben Bernie also recorded it in October 1924. The company that made the Marion Harris version bought the company that made the Ben Bernie recording in 1925. They were held up in their release because of the take-over.

The first performance of the show was 1925.

Its easy to remember. Mr MacDonald became Prime Minister, and could only afford to buy two hot drinks to celebrate the occasion!

A song I used to play...anyone recognise the language? I use it quite often! :snork:
