My eldest brother as a huge fan. I made a day trip to visit him in North Yorkshire once and he gave me a tape to play in the car on the journey home, it is one of my favourites.

On Beeb 4 last night there was a documentary about Meatloaf. This performance from The Old Grey Whistle Test is one of my favourites.................

The vocals of the English singer Lorraine Crosby are what really makes this next track..............

            And talking of incredible vocals....................

I have no idea how I haven't heard that one before, given that it was released almost 20 years ago - fantastic! I'm amazed that he hasn't become a household name with a voice like that!

We all know someone who has or had Alzheimer's.

I was very moved when I heard this beautiful song written by a young singer called Harry Gardener when he first realised his Grandmother no longer recognised him.

Just take a minute to listen..................There by the grace of God.

WOW! @roders - thank you for posting that video; a beautiful song in every way, and a hugely talented young man. His family must be incredibly proud of him, and I am sure that his nan is too.

this is a Brazilian song: "Águas de Março".

The inspiration for "Águas de Março" came from Rio de Janeiro's rainiest month. March is typically marked by sudden storms with heavy rains and strong winds that cause flooding in many places around the city. The lyrics and the music have a constant downward progression much like the water torrent from those rains flowing in the gutters, which typically would carry sticks, stones, bits of glass, and almost everything and anything. The orchestration creates the illusion of the constant descending of notes much like Shepard tones.
