          From the film 'The Little Colonel'



          Hundreds of famous people have recorded the song about him but Sammy Davis Jr was considered to be the best. Sammy said it was his favourite song and he tried to put it in all his stage shows.

          I saw him perform it live for the BBC and he acted the part of Bojangles sweeping the floor in a bar. He used the broom to dance with and did a fantastic tap dance.

          Here he is just singing it on stage



          Bojangles makes it look so easy



          The other great dancers were the Nicholas Brothers. Here they are dancing to the Cab Calloway band and doing the jumping jive.
