Here's me ribbing @Doghouse Riley , @shiney and @Tetters and it has just dawned on me that The Joshua Tree was released over thirty years ago! :yikes:
I queued up to buy this as soon as our local Our Price opened and bought it on vinyl and CD. Still one of the top five albums ever in my opinion.

This is sixty years old, but still sounds as fresh as the day I bought the album as a teenager.

                From 2014.
Fifteen year-old Rita Payes, also plays jazz trombone.

how high the moon RITA PAYES -- JOAN CHAMORRO la magia de la veu

Backing singers. All about eighteen here.
Andrea Motis, Trumpet, alto & soprano sax.
Eva Fernadez, any saxophone you like.
                Magali Datzira, Double bass.
                Good at scat singing too.

No end of videos of all of these from a Barcelona jazz school, on Youtube

I like this as much as Les Paul & Mary Ford's.

                Now something completely different.

"Terrie and the Carlas," a fictional group made up for the film, "Love at the Christmas Table."

                I find it addictive.

A track from an LP played on a pre-war gramophone that used steel needles.

I've posted this before, but I'm amazed how quickly kids grow up.

Alba Armegou at age 10, playing trumpet.

                Again, singing at fourteen

Some youngsters are very good. :dbgrtmb:

No music here but just a thank you to these girls. :) They're from the Sylvia Young Theatre School (they've performed on the West End stage) and they sing for us at our charity Open Garden. They're back again this year :hapydancsmil:

Pete Townsend of the Who once said as a young man he locked himself in his bedroom listening to records until he'd learned to play the guitar.
Which reminded me of Marta Altesa. Another young female musician from Barcelona.

Whilst watching the movie ‘Corrina Corrina’ (good film, btw), this tune really grabbed my attention...

Just so laid back, love it...

It's taken me thirty years @longk but I'm sold! U2 are a band I could take or leave but the Joshua Tree is brilliant. I'll be making a very late investment.

I'd been to see them on every tour too but the Joshua Tree tour was their first stadium tour. It could have been a disaster but they took to it like it was the most natural thing in the world. Awesome :blue thumb:
Trouble is that after the Joshua Tree it all went downhill, although Achtung Baby was a good album.

They still had there moments though............

Footage from the Joshua Tree tour.............

They have a distinctive sound, the same also with Bono's voice. Something I like with all music. :)
