Thank you Tomcat. They are/were probably the best rock band ever, but then I'm biased. The live concert that was recorded called 'The Song Remains the Same' is well worth watching, I have it on DVD and get lost in the music when ever I watch it. I rarely listen to 'Stairway to Heaven' now, it seems to be the only song played when ever Zep are mentioned. Unfortunately I didn't get to see them live. Under my mothers orders (I was still living at home) if I went to a concert of theirs, I was told not to bother coming home.

I have their complete, original British collection on vinyl but didn't bother with the remasters.

 

Ah , the joys of youth !. I think that Deep Purple give Led Zeppelin a run for their money but on reflection Zep in their prime were untouchable.

All this talk of Led Zep and Robert Plant gives me the perfect excuse to post this on the 2022 thread..........


Robert Plant (along with others such as Billy Gibbons and Alison Krauss) was a huge fan of Rainer Ptacek. So much so that he paid for him to come and record in the UK (Rainer was a part time musician with a day job).

Plant has done a fair bit of work with Alison Krauss. This is one of my favourite Krauss tracks...............

 

You're welcome to post anything you wish Longk, but sorry I won't be hitting the like button on this ocassion. I stopped buying Robert's music after the release of 'Mighty Rearranger' in 2005 when he turned away from rock. I haven't liked anything he's produced since.

 

If we all liked the same things the world would be a very boring place!

What happed to Alison Krauss and union station.
Was almost like they didn't turn up in that one.
