On a technical point, Motown's connection with jazz is the fact that the some of the session musicians were former jazz musicians (with some from R&B), who in the sixties when the interest in jazz declined needed a job. Some notable jazz musicians also performed on pop recordings.

What I didn't realise is that the actress is actually also a former professional ballroom dancer, a two-time winner on Dancing With the Stars, then a judge on the show and who has done the USA equivalent of the "Strictly tours."
