I do love the ones of your daughter, the dogs and my Gato, and the HMS Victory is fantastic. All that amazing detail and you weren't long working on it.

The one of my Sis is good too, but being sisters, I noticed a few fine points that are not exactly correct. That's me with my critical eye! :D It is difficult to do a painting or sketch from a copy of a photo, especially when you have never met the person in real. I hope I have not offended you DAG.

Not at all KG, I was working from a computer art picture and not a normal photograph. [IMG]

That's my excuse anyway! :D [IMG]

Have been experimenting with mixed media and tried doing Gato again from a different photo.

Miniature, using ink, watercolour, acrylic and coloured pencils.

That is more than excellent DAG, both t'other half and I say so ... can't even imagine what Sis will think ... probably burst into tears as I almost did! Nothing against any of Linda/rosas or your other ones which are all superb, but to me, this is second to none!

The new mixing technique seems to be working.

"... but to me, this is second to none!"

I can only say the same as Sis did, DAG, and the tears welled up in my eyes as it is so beautiful. The colours are exactly the same, the black background makes it look 3D, the green leaves give a lovely finishing touch - and he looks like he really is sitting there and could step out of the picture at any time.

    Thank you so much. xx

very nice dag, you have done a great job, guess our work cant be held in as a comparison as we have totally different styles of art and materials we both use [IMG] :D
Have to point out its very difficult for us to get the true colours of animals etc just from 1 picture on a pc screen.

Yes, we each do our art in our own way, there is no competition and what we post up is there for people to feel free to comment.

Yes, colours are a real problem to judge, even the original photographs can be quite a lot out, not to mention the problems of transferring it all digitally!

Every painting is a challenge! Some you win, some you lose! [IMG] :D
