    Yes - now's the time. They won't start to produce any growth for a bit till things warm up. I presume the idea of baking them in the sun is to get an earlier start.

    Hi PeterS, thanks for that reply. I knew about the 'chitting' thingy. It was just what to do with them after that I'm not sure about. Like I said, I don't intend to propagate, I have enough already. Sounds like the best thing is to get them going and take out any shoots that don't look strong, before planting them out.
