Damson or plum

    Hi all is anyone able to tell me if this is a Damson or not from this picture of the flower?

    As the plum is a subspecies of the damson, you would be able to tell what it is when it produces fruit.

    Damsons are rounded-oval and have a fruit-cheek. Plums are oblong and smaller than damsons. They don’t ripen after picking in contrast to the damson.

      @kazzawazza thanks, they are slightly different (but not much) so maybe it is a damson I will check the fruit for the ‘fruit-cheek’ lol ... love that

          I've damsons next to a plum. They are both flowering and I can't tell the difference just looking - but I know which is which, maybe someone locally knows what it is?
