    Although trees from semi-tropical areas will live in the UK, they will not produce viable seed. Corsican pine are one of these. When I started on Forestry I remarked to my Forester that the cones on the Corsican looked good, he told me to pick one and open it up which I did and there were no seed in it.

    Aah, Corsican squirells :heehee:

    Bit like the sweet chestnuts struggling to produce seed on the edge of their northern range then. Sometimes we get a crop but more often than not, they are not worth picking.
