          On the contrary, I think they know those diseases very well. The trouble is they think everybody has got it except them. That's the bit I have issues with. I know and have known people on benefits, and have even done a stint myself when I found myself out of work for a few months (on other occasions when I've been between jobs for a few weeks, I haven't claimed even though I could have done). The fact is some people do need help through no fault of their own, and I hate the way the government and the media have collaborated to convince the masses that all benefits claimants are just playing they system.

            agreed MIL has numerous health issues and for any one of them could claim for DLA but because she has all of them on her form they keep questioning how her dissablities can prevent her from working they say with Bipolar disorder she could still do office work ... yes granted her bipolar doesnt stop her (unless on a manic high or a major low) that would be the prp and or the lupus that would prevent it ...infact she in going for one of their medical checks in a few weeks .
            i know many people genuinly have health conditions as i work with with them and MIL, but then you have the likes of my son who are lazy yes he has a condition but he could work part time he chooses not to bother !

            I'm not for one second saying that we don't have a problem with people getting various benefits that they should not be getting, and has quite rightly been pointed out by others, the work versus unemployed balance for many is so badly skewed, it simply is not worth their while working - and that is wrong.

            Yes, we need to deal with the lazy bar stewards to are always on the take, and put nothing back. Yes, we need to deal with immigration and the sending of benefits to foreign climes. However, we also need to look at ways of making work genuinely be worthwhile, and offer support for working families to allow them to have a decent standard of living at the same time as working to contribute back into society.

            Oh, and while we are on - they need to figure out just who owes what to who, because at the moment it seems that the whole world is in debt up to their eyeballs, but at the same time are owed a bleedin' fortune by every other country. Time the big 'reset' button was pressed, methinks.
