    They're all gorgeous Wylie, I think I'd just want to keep them all, but know space would soon become a problem.
    Have you thought about selling the ones you don't want on ebay ?, if you do just let me know when you list them :biggrin:, so I can outbid Spruce :loll:, no really I'm sure they'd sell they're just as good as most named varieties, there are some seedlings listed on there at the moment, shame to throw them away :)
    Wisest of Wizards has been amazing here this year too, best I've seen it, and mines still going strong first time round, wonder if it'll rebloom too.

    Are you hoping 'Blushed with Emerald' passes on that fabulous edge? that would be amazing on 'Blue Spring', suppose its a case of trial and error seeing what traits are passed on,or looking on Tinkers at 'children' can give a good idea.

        I used Blushed with Emerald as pollen parent, so I am hoping the extreme ruffling gets passed on.
        The first year a seedling blooms, you get an idea of what it will do, and those that aren't that nice or the same thing as 20 others go away. The ones I save will be put into another area where they can develop with more room, and I can see what the bud count is and their season for blooming. Then it's on to increasing the number of fans for the best ones. About that time, my named varieties will need dividing, although I did give away a proliferation of Palace Garden Beauty that I had rooted for a month:
        Palace Garden Beauty.JPG
        (Any excuse to post another picture of my favourites)
        I haven't figured out what to do with proliferations - many of the seedlings have them. All of these problems :gaah: .
        Of course I got some new seeds for next year, and I think you would like its potential - it's for Waltz With The Wind [9" spider] X Aldersgate [16" spider]

          It is about 23 C. - it will only get to 27 C with humidity in the 90% during August.:SUNsmile:
          I hope for some very large spiders with Aldergate, and then to cross them with a double.

            I've just searched them to Wylie, that should be a great cross :wub2: , you know me too well :biggrin:, I love the huge spiders, don't think I've ever seen a double with really huge flowers so hope you manage to get a good cross, that would be a sight to see :wow:, and with your climate we won't have to wait too long.
            'Palace Garden Beauty' what a colour, I'll be waiting for the post ;), joking just trying to wind Spruce up again :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

              I was posting a reply earlier when the power went out - for 6 hours:yikes: Then the internet didn't come back for another 3 hours :cry3:
              But glad both of you like the photos:SUNsmile:
              I wanted to show another comparison of seedlings, this time Evermore Lights X Spiny Sea Urchin;
              Evermore Lights X Spiney Sea Urchin (2).JPG
              Spiny Sea Urchin is used to pass on teeth, as this one shows :smile:
              But what looks different is this seedling;
              Evermore Lights X Spiny Sea Urchin.JPG
              Hard to believe that they came from the same pod, and I like each for what it does have. I think that the second may develop teeth next year.

                This last year I won a couple of auctions on eBay (among them Blue Spring), but I also bought a couple of plants from the same dealer on his website. When it finally came time for shipping, he sent a note saying that Audubon's Oriole wasn't available (this after I had paid for it:mad:). It is Sdlg x Whirlpool Galaxy and is by Lambertson.
                I did end up with a consolation prize with my seeds, a cross of Gay Cravat x Whirlpool Galaxy:
                Gay Cravat X Whirlpool Galaxy.JPG
                Since it came from a group of seeds, I have several that look similar to this. The one I didn't get is more yellow, but I am happy with this large 6.5" reblooming one.
                Another of seedling that is blooming is of the cross Sdlg x Startle:
                Sdlg X Startle.JPG
                I don't think this will be surviving, a red with red band. Not all seeds result in winners, so I have to throw in photos of losers from time to time:thud:
                I do have what looks to be a winner, but its first flower only shows potential:
                Old Termite X Emerald Starburst.JPG
                This is Old Termite X Emerald Starburst, and it is the extended throat that has so much going for it. This seedling had a rough beginning - it had a scape and then one of my cats was playing and broke it off. So I have been hoping for a rebloom, which is finally happening. But then it looks like a termite got to it. I will be keeping this, because I know it will improve.:)

                  I hope to have a couple of spiders next year. There are a few seedlings I have growing that involve Screaming Eels, Black Arrowhead, and Bali Watercolor. But this year I will get more spider seeds (I already have some for Chevron Spider x Let It Rip - both 10"). But the 2 I have the most hopes for is Apophis x Ashee Dashee and Magic of Oz x Ashee Dashee. Hopefully double spiders. To start next year, I have 2 pods of Dynamic Duo x Free Wheelin' that should be fully ripe soon.
                  Every spring the termites swarm, but they are easily controled (I live in a stone house, so there isn't much wood for them to eat). Japanese Beetles and earwigs are the biggest problem. [I mentioned termites because the pod parent was Old Termite, and the flower is kinda of messy.]

                      I have several cascade type daylilies - those that look and act like spiders, but aren't the minimum 4.00:1 ratio. Here is an example:
                      Sallie Brown X Give Me Eight (2).JPG
                      This is Sallie Brown x Give Me Eight. It is 1.5" across without touching, and then from the "Y" on the reverse side the petal can be stretched out and measured, giving 5".
                      This gives a ratio of 3.33:1, so it is a skinny cascade type. The AHS site says to measure the longest petal (usually the bottom one). I have made a cross of this with Big Kiss x Barn Owl as pollen parent.

                      Double Gardenia X Heavenly Pink Butterfly.JPG
                      This is Double Gardenia x Heavenly Pink Butterfly. Diameter: 6", a yellow/gold composite. I had hoped for a double, but it seems to happen less often when the double is the pod parent (out of several seedlings of Big Kiss x Barn Owl, only 1 was double - see my avatar), which is why I used Sallie Brown x Give Me Eight as pod parent.
