          I bought this around 4 years ago now, first time its flowered, I thought I'd lost it at one point but it came back, looking forward to how it developes as it should be much more double than this but it is only a first flower.

            'Beat the Barons' , I always wonder if this is a right plant :scratch:it looks so much darker than any pictures I've seen, I did ask on a daylily chat site and was told it was probably due to our cooler weather conditions :dunno: its a beauty though love the way the eye colour bleeds into petals, another huge plant that needs splitting in the autumn :hate-shocked:

              You're lucky Beat the Barons looks so good :blue thumb: Soil is also a factor in how something looks. Since mine is volcanic, it is more acid, and that affects colour. A seedling I have from Armin Eder in Germany is orange cream in his garden and brown in mine. You did a good job with the photo, the 2 together.:snork:

                  With a light rain, I am frustrated today. Too wet to do much outside, but not enough to do the plants a lot of good. Of course the stupid cats are out there soaking up the water and getting ready to come in and climb up on me (a cat bath).
                  Wineberry Candy - this is only 3.5", smaller than the listed size.

                  I have another sdlg of the Laughing Clown x Country Pride cross starting. This was among the last to be started and planted out last year, so it is among the last to start flowering.

                  And then there is Big Kiss x Creative Design. It doesn't have the eye banding of C.D., but it has finally started to be fully double. A 5" DIP

                              At 7.5" across is College Colors x Bali Watercolor;

                              Showing real development is this sdlg of Sybil's Blues x Rainbows In Heaven:

                              Before it was just the eyezone on the petals, but now it has a full eye and colour on the edge. I crossed it with Core Values to help it along.
                              Yesterday I posted a photo of Big Kiss x Creative Design too early. It finally stopped raining in mid-afternoon and the flower continued to open to a large 7" across:

                              So far, my best DIP doubles have Big Kiss as pod parent:scratch:
