    I thought it was going to be just another day - Frankenflower, Geneva Top Notch, Core Values are open, along with a bunch of the doubles (You know which group I mean). But then one that I had moved to the front and thought was something else showed why I kept it. It is a double form of Unk x Smoke Scream [DIP];
    Unk x Smoke Scream (2).JPG
It is a nice purple with green throat. In the back ground is my papyrus plant after the cats have been trying to play with it.
Then another opened to show why it is still around. It looks better than last year, so I crossed it with Frankenflower to try and develop the center. Gay Cravat x Whirlpool Galaxy (I have another of this cross, but it doesn't curve in on itself):

Yesterday evening I was taking the seeds that had dried and putting them into little plastic zip lock bags. I am up to 38 bags of seeds, and earlier this year I had only bought 100, so I went to eBay.UK and got another 1000. Now that should do me for this year:loll:

        As promised

I have two pods, both Dream Keeper pod and pollen Jellyfish Jealousy

Pink Enchilada Pod & pollen Jellyfish Jealousy

Point of view pod & pollen Octopus hugs

and quite a few others with a label and I used the wrong pen and it has washed off :oopss:
plus a couple of odd ones floating about but good varieties worth keeping.

Question can daylily self pollinate .

Dream Keeper x Jellyfish Jealousy should be very nice:blue thumb:. D.K. is an extreme spider with a ratio of 7.75, which will help offset the fatter petals of J.J. It should also be large. As a DIP, it will take about 6 weeks to ripen [TETs take 8 weeks], but wait until you see them splitting open, usually in the evening.
Pink Enchilada has a high bud count to pass on.
Find a TET with a strong eye to use with Octopus Hugs, or use it as pod parent and something with a good edge as pollen.
Daylilies like to self pollinate, and the bees like to pitch in as well. I was just out back looking at pods to see if any were opening, and pulled a few unlabled ones off to throw away. Unless the flower is exceptional, I don't keep unknowns anymore. That said, I do have a couple of seeds from one of my applique throats that I'm interested in keeping.

Just when I thought it was safe to go out front, another mutant was waiting.:hapydancsmil:Just a few days ago was the 4-petaled Don Herrell. Today it has a second flower, only this time it has 5.
            Don Herrell.JPG
This week I have made 26 crosses, so far. It has been inspired by something I came across while thinking about what I want in the way of new plants this fall (Fall shipping season isn't that far away :dancy:). So I went to the Ladybugdaylilies.com site and was looking at the Geneva series Dan Hanson has - Geneva Top Notch is a favourite. I came across Guarding Gnome, whose pod parent is Frankenflower. I like the way the center was passed on, and since I have Frankenflower, I have been going crazy with it and Core Values.:rolleyespink:

Wow that just gets better and better Wylie.
I've been trying a few more crosses to but yet to see if they set seed, noticed some nice named varieties with 'Mildred Mitchell' in the cross so tried crossing with 'Julie Newmar' take a look at 'Temptation Eyes' and you'll see why;),also tried it with 'Destined to See, see 'Hap Sandy Ellis' ;), there also seemed to be several with 'Mildred Mitchell' and 'Etched Eyes' remember you bought that one this year, 'Heidi Hi' is a beauty from that cross , also a few with 'Edge Ahead' which I have so I'll be giving that a try too :hapydancsmil:

Lines of Splendor :wow: And it is an evergreen type. Only because you brought it up :heehee:, I have the same problem with one of mine that you have with Watchyl Lavender Blue and its halo.
                          Amethyst Reflections x Unk.JPG
Do I need to say which one this is??;) It has the pink self with a lavender halo into a yellow to green throat. I am awash in this flower right now. It seems every one of them is reblooming with 2 and 3 flowers open at the same time on each scape.
Only 3 tags were available today, soI had to choose which crosses to make carefully. The last tag came from a pod that was finally started opening. I got 9 seeds from Spacecoast Dragon Prince X Spacecoast Sea Shells. I reused the tag on what I hope will be (Wild Horses x Heavy Metal) X Frankenflower. Here is the one I used for W.H. x H.M.:
                          Wild Horses x Heavy Metal.JPG
This is actually the smallest of the group at 4".
But then I realized I have to stop with the TET crosses. If it takes 8 weeks to ripen, that put their due date at Oct 2, when everything starts to go to winter mode. Many of the seeds now being sold on the Lily Auction are by commercial hybridizers who use greenhouses to get an early start.

Its got to be another 'Amethyst Reflection' cross :thud:, what a colour!!!!!!!!
I never even condidered that Wylie the length of time the seeds take to ripen another useful bit of information :dbgrtmb:
Lucky you getting seeds from the Spacecoast crosses don't think any of the ones I did with mine have taken  but I'll keep trying, oh unless I crossed it with 'Cameroons', that has more tags still on it than any other :heehee:.

I try to limit the number of pods on a scape to 3. If you overwork a plant, it takes a long time for it to recover and start flowering again (add that to why they don't always flower). Dagalie had mentioned she had one full of tags, and then nothing the next year. I have several bags of seeds using Spc Sea Shells including Squirrel Beater, Paradise City, and one of my other applique throat seedlings. It's going to be tough next year - do I go for Appliques, Doubles, or the Eyes.:wallbanging:
