Back on the 3rd I posted a photo of Sybil's Blues x Water Drops. Today the second seedling opened, and while they look like siblings, they are also very different.
    Sybil's Blues x Water Drops.JPG
This is paler and more of a bi-tone. Also more blue hints of colour. It was sunny most of the day, so hopefully more will open.

You can see the parents more in this one , how many more seedlings of these two do you have yet to flower , pouring with rain here about time , didnt think I would be saying that after last year !!

There are just these two - they were bonus seeds for some that I bought last year. I thought I was real lucky since it seemed like everyone wanted something that had Water Drops as a parent.
It should be nice here until Saturday, when the chance of rain goes back up to 80%.

It is amazing what a little sun will do - today I had Purple Maze x Infinity and Beyond open:
        Purple Maze x Infinity & Beyond.JPG
A 6" TET, I like what way the midribs help in the eye pattern.
Also for the first time was Reflections In Time x Amber Rhum:
Reflections In Time x Amber Rhum.JPG
This is hard to see either parent in it, but it is a 5" TET. I would call it cranberry red with a darker red eye.

Thanks - it is close to an applique type. I had another seedling from this cross open last fall, but this is much nicer.

I went out back, not expecting much because of the wind and rain we had last night (we got the southern edge of the storm that is moving into the UK), and found these 2:
The first is Laughing Clown x Country Pride:
            Laughing Clown x Country Pride.JPG
It is a darkish red, but the way the petals curl and reveal an orange back makes it more special.
            Then there is this one:
            Dark Reflections sdlg.JPG
The sun finally came out, and this opened all the way. It is a 5.5" TET, Dark Reflections sdlg ( a different way of saying Dark Reflections x Unk).

I was hoping for a double, but it is pinching like Laughing Clown. There are 3 other seedlings from this cross, so maybe 1 will be double.

Today Dancing Chevrons opened for the second time in my garden:
              Dancing Chevrons.JPG
While snails and slugs are usually not a huge problem around daylilies, they do like to munch on the flowers, which is how I lost the first one before I could get a picture. I have 3 which are similar, this, Free Wheelin', and Hold Your Horses.
              Then there was this one:
              Burgess Dragonfly x Unk (2).JPG
Burgess Dragonfly x Unk - a 6" DIP. The way it has streaks coming out of the throat is interesting.

                This is a bonus seed:
Celestial Empire x Bold Paint (2).JPG
Celestial Empire x Bold Paint. 7" TET Red with a ruffled edge and slight wire edge in white, yellow throat. I'll volunteer this for dinner. The bonus stuff is out of our control, and here is a bonus plant I got last year:
                Knave.JPG
Knave: a dark pink with slight watermark, 5" TET.
Fortunately, there was a seedling that I was looking forward to seeing:
                Blackberry Jack x Thomas Tew.JPG
This is Blackberry Jack x Thomas Tew; 6.5" TET Evergreen. Love the ribs on this. I was hoping for it to be a little more yellow, but I can live with this;).

You might try John Benoot (only because it is open today, along with Inner View, Silk Mystique, and Cosmic Courier - which also has a nice edge).

That would be nice Wylie but I don't have John Benoot :cry3:, I've seen it for sale somewhere though .
I've just been looking which TETS I have with a nice edge that may be flowering at the same time as Knave,as you know they don't all show their lovely edges in the UK but one I thought could be a possibility is 'Sink into Yor Eyes' which flowers early and then reblooms in August, what do you think? ,being new to hybridising any advice welcome, I'd rather make notes now of possibly crosses so I'm not running round like a headless chicken come summer, but suppose it all depends whats open on the same day unless I collect pollen of course :), a good idea is probably to look at children from certain plants to see which traits are passed on, Tinkers seems to be down though haven't been able to get on there for over a week now, hope it'll be back soon, haven't heard anything about it closing again.
                      'Sink into Your Eyes'

Sink Into Your Eyes would be nice! (Use it as pollen parent) I saw where Tinkers is down, also. Hmmm... I'll have to work on getting you John Benoot since it has a really great edge. The flower on it has been ripped apart by the winds that have come up this afternoon:sad:
