I had a suprise FFO today - Leroy x President Ronald Reagan. Its siblings have all been butter yellow with a ruffled edge, so this is very different:

Somehow, tags got mixed, and now I have an unknown from last year. The tag says Green Flutter, but this is certainly not that. It is a dark red on the tips with red halo and yellow to green throat, pinched crispate form, 6" across. Where it starts to pinch, it changes shades of red. I suspect it may be Kermit's Scream x Clairvoyant Lady:

Spacecoast Sea Shells has started reblooming :heehee: and, of course, Amethyst Reflections x Unk. It requires a set of photos to see the differences, and why I have kept all of them:

This last one has the best eye, and notice how the petals are exactly over the sepals.

Yes, and he is. It was Randy Griffin (search the AHS Database by hybridizer). Since he hasn't posted any photos of an Amethyst Reflections cross on his website (Pendergriff South), I guess he hasn't been able to figure out the unknown pollen parent.

There's a lot going with this one, which is Lighter Than Air x Whirlpool Galaxy. First there is the huge green throat, then the way the petals are pinched and the sepals are curled. It is what you might call antique pink with rose eyezone. And there is the way nothing wants to touch its neighbour.

Some of these seedlings really work overtime. Blooming for the 3rd time is White Eyes Pink Dragon. I love its strong purple self that doesn't fade (a real plus).

            Hi All

            some beauties on ebay

            Miss Piggy went for 35.99
            Rose F Kennedy 42.50

I bet Sheila/Brenda was happy but without the main 4 here in the UK that bring them in we would not able to get our hands on quite a lot of them.

I have only sold a few on ebay but I did make ££ which isn't that bad so if I did pay a lot within two or three years you could be getting some ££ back which isn't bad for a gardening hobby but I do love a "Swap".

I have at least 10 I bought last year that havnt flowerd plus all the seedlings so NO more to be bought !!!

Wylie yours are looking great , as Simbad space is my problem

My trouble is all my older varieties Spruce no-one wants them everyone wants the newer intros like today I've dug up two huge clumps of Annie Welch and an unknown my Dad gave me years ago, I have far to much of both and they're smothering some of my newer varieties thing is what to do with them all :rolleyespink:, I hate throwing healthy plants away, suppose I could put them up near the gate with a sign free plants:biggrin:, this afternoon its Big Birds turn my OH's favourite daylily but I have 3 clumps of that !!!!at least a bonus plant from Brenda(Oakes Love) should flower next year now it can see the light and when Big Birds moved Dipped in Ink will have a bit more room and hopefully flower better next year.

You know that if you were to buy Hen's Teeth from Dan Hansen, it would cost 64GBP, plus all the other costs. But my experience with his sales, you get a clump of 8 - 10 fans. (Squirrel Beater and Moose Man. Life Is A Highway was listed as 2 fans, but I got 3).

One of my favourite yellows is open today - Blushed With Emerald. A nice butter yellow with a canary yellow ruffled edge.

One of the nice things about this time of year is that I can just look at the flowers and not think of what crosses I can use them for. Here is Gay Cravat x Whirlpool Galaxy (I already have 7 seeds of this x Womanizer):

The token DIP in the crowd is Memories of Oz x Ottis Leonard:
Memories of Oz x Ottis Leonard.JPG
Gillian x Thomas Tew has a long blooming season and has been rarely out of flower this whole summer:

It's still very warm here - and no rain:gaah:. I had to water my seedlings yesterday - just the new ones and not the established ones. I've been weeding around them and the dirt is very dry. Knave has begun flowering again. I also harvested 10 seeds of Amethyst Island x Core Values and 9 of Palace Garden Beauty x Life Is A Highway.

Lets hope the weather turns nice again so they open JazzSi:) my Final Touch has long finished.
We've had a bit of rain yesterday and today Wylie in fact its raining now!!!! tried to get a bit of planting done earlier but the grounds still really dry just a couple of centimetres down!!!!
I collected 7 seeds from Cameroons X Sanford Star Search might make something nice  and 4 from Watchyl Lavender Blue X All American Windmill which will probably just be a strange colour? don't even know why I did that one :heehee:, do have a huge pod on Madge Cayse X All American Windmill, thats probably one of my better ideas.
