I received Life Is A Highway today! It is actually in 2 pieces, so it should multiply real fast:dancy: Bluebird Butterfly is a bit of a mystery - Tinkers says it is 10" while the AHS site lists it at 4", so I have to wait.
In spite of drizzle all day, I did manage to have some new flowers, and once again I am totally confused.
First is Articulate Matrix x Rainbows In Heaven:
Articulate Matrix x Rainbows In Heaven.JPG
A nice, strong eye; but lacks any kind of real edge.
One of my named daylilies opened:
    Small Tempest.JPG
This is Small Tempest, and has a real nice raspberry red eyezone.
    Then there is the mystery:
Better Lucky Than Good x Ice Cream Emperor.JPG
This is a 5" TET, and according to my labels and planting chart, it is Better Lucky Than Good x Ice Cream Emperor. When I first saw it this morning, I thought it was something with Spacecoast Sea Shells as a parent - that applique throat is what I would expect. Better Lucky Than Good, while an appropriate name, is orange with a darker eye; and Ice Cream Emperor is cream with a green edge. There are 5 other siblings of this cross, so all I can do is wait.

Ooooooh you know I love those applique throats :wallbanging:, my first thought was 'Catcher in the Eye' :)

Catcher In The Eye is the pod parent to Spc Sea Shells, and I have seedlings of Wild Horses x Catcher In The Eye and Incendiay x Catcher ..., also Amber Rhum x Kazoo which are both offspring of Catcher...; hopefully I will have some applique throated beauties:SUNsmile:

To get a photo, all you have to do is Google the name - Paul @ eurodaylily has my picture of Spacecoast Sea Shells as a poly which I put on Flickr & GOY (even when I said I was flattered he liked it enough to use on his website, he didn't acknowledge its use).
It can be disappointing when they open for the first time and are just ugly - I've had several already, and I take a photo to remind me so I can dig them up in the fall.

Yes as Wylie said must have just googled and found my picture Spruce, its on GOY as well and I did belong to a daylily addict group on ebay(not much activity on there lately) where Wes was a member so could have got it there to.

Finally, another break from the rain so several more new ones. But an old favourite opened as well:
            Jungle Butterfly.JPG
This is Jungle Butterfly, a 6" TET that should rebloom all summer and into the fall.
I have 2 crosses involving Better Lucky Than Good. There is yesterdays purple one, but what I expected to see was something more like this cross of Better Lucky Than Good x Hippie Crash Pad:
Better Lucky Than Good x Hippie Crash Pad.JPG
A searing orange with a red eye.
Also for the first time was this:
            Purple Maze x Infinity & Beyond.JPG
This is Purple Maze x Infinity and Beyond, a 4" TET

Inspite of rain last night and this morning, some daylilies managed to open. There is Inner View, Tropical Tangerine, Gilded By Grace tried but didn't make it all the way (and it is going to be spectacular); and then there was Apophis x Frilly Bliss:
                Apophis x Frilly Bliss.JPG
This is 8" across. The petals are pinched. Apophis is dark red and Frilly Bliss is pink.
Then I had a DIP open:
                Big Kiss x Creative Design.JPG
This is Big Kiss x Creative Design. With one fully open and another partially, it is very heavy for the stem so I held it up. It is 6.5" across.

We are supposed to have an orange alert for tonight and tomorrow morning for rain that is heavy at times. I heard it off and on last night, it continued this morning, then let up for the afternoon before starting again. My new daylily seedlings are enjoying it, though. They are getting really big. Plants that rebloom are an important feature for me since everything looks like it wants to open in the next few weeks. I have a scape on just about every plant.

Today it has been cold, windy, and a lot of rain, but my flowers aren't giving up. Yee Haw x Dark Wonder, which I posted before, continues to have wide differences:
                        100_5970.JPG
Love the eye, a yawn for the rest . But there is this other one that opened for the first time today:
                        Yee Haw x Dark Wonder.JPG
Better colour and a whiskered eye. Right next to it is this:
Spotted Fever x Screaming Eels (2).JPG
This is Spotted Fever x Screaming Eels - a bi colour with a green throat. Also open was this:
Wild Horses x Catcher in the Eye.JPG
Wild Horses x Catcher In The Eye. I was hoping for an applique throat, but got Catcher's colour and Wild Horses eye.

I got Before Botox last year as a bonus plant, and I am waiting to see what it does. I did have a seedling last year that had sculpting, and this year I have Strikingly Dramatic reserved with Sheila which is also sculpted. Mine are all the relief sculpted form, and Texas Feathered Fancy is the cristate sculpted form. Ladybug/Dan Hansen have a lot this year, and I thought about it, but I am waiting to see how the ones I have look. They are all pretty new, so they will be expensive.
