HB.The two young men I saw were not trying to sell The Big Issue, they just seemed down on their luck.I heard years ago that a lot of these people cannot find work if they have no fixed address,a lot of employers will not take them on if they have nowhere to live, but don't quote me on it.
There was an article on the radio some years back which said that a lot of personnel who leave the armed forces after a long stint, find they cannot adjust to civvy street, and so with broken relationships behind them end up out on the street...
I don't think that anyone in their right minds would choose such a life.Perhaps once in a while we should perhaps stop and ask the Big Issue sellers why they choose that way of life, but sometimes we are all too busy rushing along with our lives to even care....

Three good shots, Platty - and all with a consistent message. The photo of the Edinburgh nativity is particularly good as you have got the lighting and texture bang on. Statues and such can be very difficult and flat. Yours is alive. Excellent!

I appreciate you comments HB. I am trying to push this new camera as far as I can and I was captivated by this nativity image. Without a tripod I had to take a wider shot and crop it down.

I had no great success with the colourful Christmas lights on the big wheel, chair-o -planes ( The old fashioned ones) and the ice skating. Have you any tips for that?

I wondered, as a start, about working in manual, aperture priority and altering the white balance to incandescent. What think ye? Would that help?
