One week on from discovery of the seedling, the Delonix is now 18cm tall, a growth of 5cm in one week ...

miraflores, one of the unknown climber is just peeping through also and the Erythrina is slowly emerging. [IMG]

Ok LOL, yours is doing well,

    and the erythrina

My climers are not showing at all yet.
I have an idea, judging by the seed, that they are from the bignonia family.
    Pandorea crossed my mind.

pete, yours looks about like mine .. t'other half wants to know what the two "plain" leaves are ... I guessed at protection for the fronds ????

Oh, your Erythrina is way ahead of mine ...

Don't know about the climber, pete, mine is too small to idenify but the leaf doesn't look like Podranea/Pandorea to me. What I've got is a bit heart shaped rather than ovaloid pointy (if there's such a thing) ... but may be wrong .. my label from Luca said a creamy climbing plant ... P/Ps are pink ???? I'll do a pic of mine this week as it progresses.

strongy, if only I get mine to that size, but mine will have to be in a pot, ie, Bonsai ...

miraflores, you/Luca have got us going here ... [IMG]

The two lower plain leaves are the cotyledons, they were inside the seed from the start, the food store of the seed.
They are there on the erythrina as well, but thicker and fleshier.
Yeah the pandorea was just a guess, but the real adult leaf shape will take a while to show.

I have only the lower leaves on the Erythrina so now I know what to expect, pete.

As I have one of the unknown climbers up, I'll keep a watch ...

Good fun this is, isn't it? But you're better at it than me ....

strongy, I only planted my Sesbanias three days ago because of all the disruption here, so you'll be the first to show us what's coming up.

pete, that can't be the "wonga wonga" vine .. I only know them as pink ...

I could be wrong here, but, as far as I know pandorea pandorana is the wonga wonga vine,(only an Aussie would come up with that name), but there are others, pandorea jasminoides is one.
Yours could be podranea ricasoliana, they are all very similar unless seen together.
BTW, did you have any luck getting the chilopsis, (desert willow), I'm trying some cuttings.

Mine is the Podranea ricasoliana (pink trumpet vine), pete.

This is my varigated Pandorea jasminoides (Bower of Beauty, I also have the non-varigated) ...

Sorry it's a bit blurry but I cropped it from one I took the other day.

You are right about the Pandorea pandorana being the Wonga Wonga Vine.

I think they all get confused and I know I've reversed the names of mine before now. [IMG]

No I didn't. It was planted the same time as Billardeira erubescens was and then got upturned by my dear little Cal, the Billardeira escaping this unheaval. I'll keep my fingers crossed. [IMG]

If the cuttings take I'll have a go at sending them, could be a while yet though.
