Pete, quite a few of us somebodies...... including Bella, Daisy, Tom and Charlie, of course!

GP - if you're coming that distance, I think you'll need more than tea! Maybe one day we'll open the garden locally..... I'm sure the pets would be on their best behaviour :D

Super, Dendy! One of these years we intend to have a small formal pond amid the herbs, and a trickling brook running down the hill below.... but it's only in the head at the moment, so I'm jealous!! [IMG]

Just one thing, though.... I can't see the haggis tree....!! :D [IMG] [IMG]

    (SLAP!)....

    Ouch!! Sorry, Dendy!

There are 3, Windy - you'll have to bring one of the spawns.......

No haggis tree? You mean you can't see it, H-A? ;)

I'm just hoping the Goldfinch magnets (teasels) work this year - we have goldfinches up on the canalside, and in the woods at the end of the cul de sac, so they don't have to go far out of their way..... [IMG]

Goldfinches are sooo lovely - hope you can bring 'em in....
We get flocks of up to fifty at a time here, and they sit in the lime tree outside the kitchen window for ages just chatting to each other. I've left an area unmown this year so there'll be seed heads, hopefully. I also try to leave any teasels that pop up, too.

Well done Dendy it is a credit to you both [IMG] . We have got it in our minds to move in the next year or so to a bungalow with a decent size back garden, if we do I will look back to yours (and BM'S) for inspiration. ;)

Fabulous Dendy, you must be so pleased [IMG] it has been a lot of work but well worth it.
The Goldfinches round here go for dandelion clocks and thistledown, they look very funny with their beaks stuffed with the fluffy seeds. [IMG]

Thanks Strongy and Blackthorn - yes, lots of hard work, but a great sense of achievement when each little bit is done and dusted. Oh, and quite a few Radox baths...........

Love the thought of those goldfinches coming in - they're such lovely little birds! I haven't seen them very often, but when I have done, they've been in quite big flocks, suddenly arriving from nowhere, landing, and off again!

    Windy - :D

Or tripping over the step on to the grass.....

No garden is perfect, and if you could see some of our weeds in the not-so-wild bits, you'd not think it was my job to weed gardens! Some of the docks

We also are never going to have perfect grass - Bella, Daisy and Charlie will make sure of that!

Thanks very much, Kandy! :D I'll pass on everyone's comments to Mr D and MIL, who have had more to do with the pond than I have - but the wildlife area is more mine than anyone's. Any plants I rescue and don't have any particular place for tend to be put down there!

Can't see it either, Scotkat - don;t know what to suggest - ask the experts!

Yes, we got a few peoples' grass cut, but had to stop at lunchtime.

Let me know when you're coming, and I'll try to get it relatively weedfree, and cut the grass!
