Guys..Forget the freeview box...get yourself a new telly with digital tuner...sorted.
No hassle with extra cables and iffy boxes with suspect componants.. been there, done that.

I got two 15.6" Technica digital TVs from Tesco Direct when on special offer for £67.49, used a code to get £10 off a £50 spend and bought via Quidco to get 5% cashback (on the full price before code) so only £54.12 each!

Did something similar for a bigger & better TV for the living room with DVD, but got that down to about £100.

But then I would be without a proper working telly for the next 8 months.:)

They say that when they do the change over it will be in two stages around here, and the telly will need to be retuned on both occasions if it is to work properly.
I think the dates are about two weeks apart.

      Should be interesting.

I used to like Nilson's "everybodys talking at me", its starting to wear me down now.:D

Pete... do I assume by that statement that you believe that digital TVs only recieve digital stations..?
I think you will find that all TVs tune digital and analogue if you wish them to.
I have retuned several in my area and every one had the option to tune both analogue and digital.

      I didn't know that capney.
I do have one digital but I guessed it was out of date due to having both.
I have it on a Virgin box so tend not to use the tuner anyway.

The problem one is in another room set up with a freeview box.

Any way just a thought but why should this actually cost us the public anything.

I dont remember asking them to change me to digital.

      Ok Pete.
If I have read this right,,,
If you have on a Virgin (Cable ) box then you will not need to do anything with it. It will all be done for you.

If you have a freeview box with your other set, then on the switchover days you will probable find one or two stations missing.
Now it is a case of just re auto tuning the freeview box.
I`m assuming you are using a SCART cable between the freeview box and the telly.
      Hope this helps

Yes I'm using a scart. And will have to retune twice so they say.

      I'll probably manage it.

But I can think of a few that wont.

The official advice is to get intouch with a local TV aerial supplier, or at least thats what they told me when I enquired.
The very helpful people then went on to give me a list of approved fitters.

      Not cheap I bet.

I'm guessing most people have already gone through this process in the UK, we are probably one of the last areas to get Digital.
