Hi Kristen, all you did was click on the bold button and type in between the code and then jump out for normal text..........well, it seemed simpler to me!!

    Ah, I remember :)

You can click the A/A icon (top right) to get into plain text editor, and the then [B] Bold button will do just like you described (there's then a link under the editor to get back to WYSIWYUG mode if you hate the plain text mode.)

Or you can just type - to here: press the [B] button (it shows "pressed"), and then when you are done with Bold press it again here: and you are back to normal text again.

Pressing the [I] button here: works the same way for Italic text until you press it again here:

and maybe a poll could be taken to decide the size font preferred? with some examples?

I need specs for computer use and with the new font size I can read what's on screen over a greater range of distances. A poll seems a good idea.

P.S. Highlighting text and pressing CRL + b still works for enboldening, just like it did in pre-WYSIWYG wordprocessers over 25 years ago

You don't really want to ask us plebs about font size :rolleyespink:. We'd argue all day :heehee:

As one of the people who likes this larger size I suggest you take it down one point and wait for comments (it could always be taken down a further point - or put back up). I promise not to make so bold as to moan :loll:

RR: If you get the chance to do this can I suggest that LINKs are also reduced (relative to body-text)? On the old system the displayed part of a link had its "middle" replaced with an "..." Elipse so it was not too wide, but the new site show the link in full (which I like, 'coz I can see what I am about to click on and I'm less likely to be fooled into clicking on a link to something dubious ...) but they do look rather monstrous! Here's a link to this post by way of example:

        http://gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/threads/discussion-regarding-new-forum.40956/page-4#post-520446

I think they could be a point or two smaller, and not bold (Currently the CSS just modifies the normal message text by setting "bold" [plus a few "radius" settings]).

Personally I would prefer visited links to be in a different colour. On a shpping cart site it might be handy that they don't change colour, but on an "info" site I think having "Visited" the same colour is less helpful - if I could see a link in a "visited" colour then I wouldn't fall into the trap of visiting it again and then going "Senior moment, been there already" !!

But just me 2p-worth, it ain't my call :)

You sort of can, but its a PITA.

        Call up the conversation
        LEAVE it
Confirm that you do NOT want to be informed of any further correspondence

I suspect that what this means is that conversations will be purged after a period of time.

I, for one, have very old PMs that I have kept because of some useful fact, or someone's contact details, and I will (presumably) now have to copy that somewhere more permanent?

        Kristen and admin,

I would be very interested in this as I have old PM's I want to keep but I also have some I want to get rid of.
