Possibly some folk haven't read the rules fully in their enthusiasm to get started. I'd guess one of the moderators will drop a polite explanatory PM when they spot the mistake.

I really really really don't want to rock the boat, [IMG] and I don't even care that much. Only I have some nice ideas in mind which could be used if this is the case. [IMG]

MF as your note appears after my posting of my A BLOOMIMG CHRISTMAS PRESENT I can only assume that you believe that my picture is not as taken.

I can only assure you that it is as taken using my Fuji S9600 with available light and, to ensure pin sharp focussing. the camera was on a tripod and a cable release was used to make sure that there was absolutely no camera shake.

Is there now to be a rule that stops me using a tripod and cable release ?????

If you don't trust my integrity I will be happy to delete my membership of GC.

    Kindest regards

    Platty

Platty, looking through todays posts, I don't think MF was implying your photo had been altered. I think that the rules for both competitions have just been re-iterated.

Why did MF write that rule? What is its purpose? If we are to have a creative photography competition why do we have rules that get in the way of creativity? Why was there no consultation on the rules? Where has the fun gone?

What exactly is the point? Can we not be creative without competing?

:( Well HB... I think it is a shame you have taken that attitude, all I have had is positive feed back from GC memebers for both the compettions..... [IMG]

Calm down peeps, lets all refrain from being so precious and just read the perfectly reasonable rules. It's not hard. Unless you are contacted via PM by a moderator, please assume your photos are fine. Discussion whether or not a photo is compliant is not to be the subject of open forum!

Having asked for reiteration of the rules in view of my own next entry I apologise for causing this confusion. The rules aren't personal they just draw a line to set a standard of entry and as such somethings are allowed and some are not.

Please lets all just enjoy this, and look beyond the fact that the rules have been slightly changed. I really urge everyone not to get caught up in the pendantics. Current discussion I feel is only breeding bad feeling and discontent on our/my beloved forum. :(

frogesque that is fan-dripping-tastic mate, love it !

WF I don't think the Creative comp is for you if you had hoped to transpose your current creative art style. The purpose as I saw it was to have a second comp for those that wanted to express their ability in post picture processing through Pshop et al, not add in additional material. I don't know quite why this comp was given the name 'creative photo comp', perhaps in response to pressure and trying to please. What you and others do in 'creative art' is a step further again, and I am not sure it lends itself to being judged in competitive terms.

No-one is excluded from the monthly comps except by their own lack of imagination.

To re-write what I said before. The members gallery is available to 'show off' all our photos etc. We don't have to compete to derive pleasure from producing or looking at the fantastic efforts that people post up.

If people want more competitions, or have additional requirements for the forum, (comps just being one part of it), I would like to see more posts in member requests [IMG] .

    Peace [IMG]

Cool, [IMG] although I can't agree with ...

"I dont think anyone was trying to please us in the creative art just totaly trying to throw their weight around and trying to make us abide by rules and regulations "

[IMG] I was happy with it as it was, but equally happy with the clarification and reiteration of the rules. I was conducting myself in this manner anyway. From my perspective, any moderating that has taken place in respect of the competitions has been in response to requests good and bad. Unfortunately, it is in part the baited comments by various individuals that has necessitated these changes, so we have no-one to blame but ourselves really.

Its all good, and I think the competitions are better than ever in terms of standard and member participation [IMG]

well i,m very sad about all of this thats happened, I dont as you know do creative photos but i do enjoy looking at everyones work and help by giving pictures when i can and vice versa yous guys have given me pictures for my sketching.
Platanoides please re-consider as you have put a lot into gc with wonderful art work.
I honestly thought the other competition was to be creative as you like with the software you guys have got, although i entered my pictures with nothing done to them but it was only because they had water in them.just hope this can be sorted as all i can see is a lot of pictures in the creative competition being deleted and there is a lot of great pictures in that section.
