LOL Perhaps your Mum thought you were ready to go on to the other side, but the fact that you shreiked, and broke the chain meant that you wasn't ready to go over.

They say that when it is time, someone you loved comes to collect you and shows you the way.

My Mum said that when we pass over, there is permanent daylight and sunshine, and you become young again with no pain or suffering, and there are Halls of learning where you can go and learn about things you never had the chance to do in this life.

She also said that it wasn't the dead we should be frightened of,they would do us no harm, only the living would do that...

You may well be right, Kandy. I've had a few near misses in my life.

The white cat in my dream came to take Penguin away and did because Penguin was ready to go. Sheppy said about becoming young again.

And I certainly agree with you that it's the living we should be wary of!

I've always been fascinated by this subject.

Yes, my mum and grandma always said it wasn't the dead we should be frightened of too! Grandma, mam and me were all big believers in guardian angels and loved to hear of sightings. Mind you, I always told mam that when she died she needn't bother coming to see me! I'd be scared to death. She died 10 years ago, only 54....and has kept her word! I know she's around though, probably looking over the keyboard whilst I'm writing this and having a giggle!

Yes, funny about the young thing......just confirms even more that he did come back to see me!

Sorry LOL.Got side tracked.Mr Kandy is scanning pictures of Tina upstairs so I have to keep running up and down to see how he is getting on.
I want the ones of her as a pup first on here

Yes I to am fasinated by these sorts of things. When we were trying to think of names for our new cats Poppy and Willow, the names just came into my head as if someone had spoken them to me.
People keep telling me I have a way with words, but I just write down what comes into my head down my fingers and onto the key board.

Long ago I neary stepped off of the kerb while out shopping into the path of a car,but as I was going through the motions of stepping into the road I heard a voice say NO very loudly and I felt a hand on my shoulder to stop me.When I looked round there was only the other people on the path with me with their mouths open at what I was about to do,and none of them had tried to help me.
Since then I have tried to pick the right place to daydream...

Hi Kandy - sorry to hear about Tina. I've only just caught up with your loss, but can see from your posts that you understand. You'll continue to miss her but know that death is not final.

    An American Indian once said:

"There is no death. Only a change of worlds."

Thankyou Hornbeam.I think the Indian words are very true, though I don't think we will ever really know until we take that finale journey ourselves.

I am glad she found us,as the photos I have put on here show she had a good life much better than the death sentence she was under. As the post from Liz says,we were chosen to share her life...

To follow on from what Hornbeam's saying, here is one of the sand carvings from here ...

It's Lone Man, an American Indian legend. He returns each Spring bringing a warm wind to remind people that he still cares for them ....

Love the sand carving of the Indian and would love to try it myself. I carve wood and stone and model in clay which I then get fired in the kiln at Harlow College. Here is one of mine:

I was interested to read what others have posted about their animals.
Recently I've been giving food and shelter to a stray Tom cat who has been coming into my garden since my dog, Sheba, died earlier this year.A few nights ago, in a half-waking state (I think the fancy name for it is "hypnagogic" ! ) I felt a bump at the foot of my bed and the thought went through my mind "The cat has got into the house". But then, just as she used to do when alive, I had the sensation that Sheba was bounding up from the foot of the bed to snuggle up beside me. Sceptics tell us that we are very likely to experience hallucinations when in a hypnagogic state, but I have to say this "hallucination" felt very real at the time and I like to think that Sheba returned briefly to let me know that she was pleased that I was making sure one of her old "enemies" wasn't going hungry any more.
I've had a few other inexplicable experiences in my life and I'm open to the suggestion that there are other states beyond the physical.
I find it rather hard-to-swallow what I've read in the past about the Findhorn garden , though. I wonder if anybody else has anything to say about this place where "nature-spirits" are believed to be in abundance.

    Lovely carvings, Hornbeam!

I think your Sheba was paying you a little social visit and even if she doesn't visit again, you'll remember that special one time. [IMG]

I don't know anything about the Findhorn garden, Jack ... where is it located?

Findhorn is in Scotland, LoL. A web search throws up lots of entries. There appears to be a community working there who believe that "Plant devas" are working alongside them helping to cultivate their gardens. The idea seems a little far-fetched to me, but I've never been there so can only judge by things that I've read in the past.
