Pff..No I don't believe in brunch....it's just a meal invented by lazy people who don't get up in time for breakfast.:heehee:

Other meal names used in our household include: scoff and trough time. Useful as they are interchangeable regardless of time.

Brunch is 11ish, a cross between breakfast and lunch. I like brunch because I don't like breakfast but I am hungry by then.

I like brunch too, provided I've already had breakfast and 10 o'clocksies and dinner/lunch/trough is not too far away.

Oh, I know you didn't Upsy. I posted before I read yours. I do have tea and a muesli bar and juice and exercise before I would eat anything substantial as I did when I worked. I have never been a big "full English breakfast" person ... only the English are! :heehee: In Portugal you have coffee/tea and a pastry or croissant, maybe a bread roll and cheese and ham.

Oh, and Lunch here is Lanche (pronounced lun-sh), which takes place around 4 o'clock and is coffee/tea and cakes and sometimes cold meats and cheeses. This really confuses foreigners.

As Winnie the Pooh said to me when I kept using long words:-

"It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like 'What about lunch?"

Glad to hear you can eat in two languages! Very soon the rest of us won’t be able to afford to eat at all.

I don’t quite understand why sometimes there is a green ribbon in the top left-hand corner of my profile picture and sometimes there is not. Lab comes up with various theories and, although they may be right or wrong, none of them quite makes sense. Would you please give us a green light and enlighten us?
