The only person Mr S and I Zoom with is our Financial Advisor (since the start of Covid) but we Skype a fair bit with our offspring that are scattered far and wide.
I still, also, use smoke signals. That's why we have so many bonfires. The neighbours complained to the council about me using drums so had to stop that.
Actually, when I was in the first year at secondary school we did use quills as it was part of learning to write copperplate. We had to learn to rotate the quill to get the thin and thick strokes with the quill cut broad. The lamplighter also used to come and light the gas lamps in the street of our school in the winter. I suppose he did it in the summer as well but it was only dark when we left school in the winter. He had modernised and been able to do away with his ladder and have a lighter on a long pole.
