    We always keep a couple of bottles in the shed, and winter does seem to be the time when grease builds up in the external gully trap, probably aggravated by the dishwasher operating overnight on Economy 7.

    That, and the fact that the pipes are much colder during the winter, so the fat or soap residues congeal much faster.
