The photo above my friend had spare wool in the house and asked if I woul dcrochet a very long thin scarf so she could wrap it round her neck.

Tried 6 sts on hook but too wide then did 4 and she was delighted.

Funny about that. A couple of years ago a neighbour had mohair yarn with pulley-out bobbly bits on it in the exact same colour and asked me the same question and I did a VERY long, thin scarf with foot-long tassels. Had enough to do a hat and a pair of ear muff covers (she loves ear muffs)! :D :D :D

PS It was very expensive yarn but she got it in an Oxfam shop in London.

Another project finished a friend gave me this red and white.

A neck warmer to make for my mother in law of 83 and another two eyelash scarfs.

By the time I have done these do you think I will be able to make a shurg for myself and a nice glitter evening bag.

Wow, Scotkat! You cartainly HAVE got the bug!!
I haven't been able to get on with my evening shawl - sliced the tip of my right index finger on a vegetable slicer OUCH!! So I guess I won't be playing the guitar for a bit either....

I particularly like that scarf with the purple / blue / black theme - really nice and cosy-looking too! :D

    Dendrobium,
about your finger and the guitar playing, I suppose it would have been worse if you would have sliced the tip of a finger of the left hand, as you would have to press the cords with those fingers (unless you are left handed on top of vegetarian...), whilst on the right you can use a plectrum . I had a similar problem many years ago, on the tip of my middle left finger which I never wanted stitched. There is now an unnoticeable roundish scar, which is a little sensitive to pressure. I was also learning some guitar playing at the time, and after that accident I lost my interest .

you're quite right, Miraflores! And I play the double bass more thses days anyway, so I could do that without needing to use the index finger. And no, I'm not left-handed, so only like Sir Paul in being veggie! :D (oh, and that I used to live in Liverpool....)

Francis this is the original hat I was trying to make that had the 11chains.

Have not done the 11chains as the hat fit me fine just how it is.

By the way how is your arm?

That's fine then, Scotkat! Like the wine-bottle cover too - particularly for Italian wines, is it? :D

The finger's improving - not sore, just rough, and I'm being careful not to let it catch on things. A chunk of nail, nail-bed and finger tip went...... (cringe!!)

Still won't be able to crochet for ages, until the nail has grown back. :(

I lost my little left finger when I was 8 part of my finger missing been like that along time.

I am so pleased I have mastered how to crochet .

This hat was the pattern we got stuck on but as I said this fits me so did nt go to end of pattern.

The wine bottle colours were to represent festive colours still to choose a nice bottle of red to go in it.

So I would now like to make a poncho for myself do you think I am up to it.

Started my job last wed getting on fine.
